The office should be a place that nurtures creativity and productivity in this ever-challenging industry. As a young entrepreneur building a business and balancing various tasks there are days where it’s necessary to step outside of the every day workplace. Thankfully, the beauty of self-employment is having the ability to take your office wherever you feel like getting the job done.
The Semi-Tropic is an oasis amid the hustle of the urban city. This café tucked away in Echo Park is a textural paradise from the distressed concrete floors to the ceiling of exposed wood beams. Beautiful natural light flows through the gilded wall of windows. A reclaimed brick feature wall highlighted with geometric built-ins and emerald painted wood paneling makes for a stunning bar. Styled with mid-century modern furniture and a gorgeous color palette of peacock, chartreuse and black, this industrial space feels warm and inviting.
I especially loved the cozy corners of sectional seating backed up onto a beautiful gallery ledge and studded headrest. It was easy to spend nearly 5 hours completely focused on work thanks to the selection of food, coffee and wine that they have to offer. I treated myself to a delicious latte, salmon toast and a crisp michelada. The Semi-Tropic also has churro waffles and pop rocks champagne! Needless to say, I will be back for much, much more.
